Merrion Fertility Clinic » Success Rates
Success Rates. Since
the birth of the first IVF baby, Louise Brown in 1978, there has been a
steady improvement in the success rates of IVF treatment. The pregnancy
rates vary between IVF clinics, and from time to time within the same
clinic. At Merrion Fertility Clinic we regularly monitor our success
rates to ensure that they are optimal. Our current clinical pregnancy* success rates per embryo transfer after IVF & ICSI are as follows: | Female Age | Clinical Pregnancy Rate | | 25 – 34 | 38.9 % | | 35 – 37 | 34.2 % | | 38 - 39 | 41.7 % | | 40 - 42 | 16.7 % |

We use the WHO/ICMART definition of clinical pregnancy: evidence of
pregnancy by clinical or ultrasound parameters / ultrasound
visualisation of a gestational sac. It includes ectopic pregnancy.
Multiple gestational sacs in one patient are counted as one clinical
pregnancy. |
