About us
Research & development
Merrion Fertility Clinic, through our continuing professional development and research programme, is committed to developing the science underpinning assisted reproduction with the overall goal of improving success rates.
A research link exists between Merrion Fertility Clinic, the University College Dublin, School of Agriculture, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine and the UCD Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research. The current research being undertaken through this link looks at the influence of diet, menstrual cycle and fertility on the metabolomic profiles of healthy women.
We are collaborating with the World Endometriosis Research Society with their Global Study of Women's Health. This is the first prospective epidemiological study to investigate the impact of endometriosis at an unprecedented global scale - a study of this scale has never been undertaken before.
We are currently working on a single embryo transfer (eSET) programme which aims to reduce multiple pregnancies to fewer than 10% of all our pregnancies. This in turn will reduce incidences of complications during pregnancy or at birth of multiple pregnancies complementing our holistic approach to assisted reproduction. We aim to achieve our 10% goal while maintaining our high cycle success rates.
